Donald Trump, despite his recent electoral triumph, has already stepped back from a critical campaign promise - resolving the war in Ukraine with unprecedented speed. During an appearance on Hannity in 2023, Trump declared he would settle the war within 24 hours, asserting he would address the issue even before officially taking office.
Now, more than 48 hours post-election with a victory under his belt, the conflict remains unresolved. Reports from The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday revealed that Trump lacks a concrete strategy to broker peace between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Instead, he is currently sifting through contrasting suggestions from his advisors. Throughout his campaign, Trump persistently criticized outgoing President Joe Biden for providing military aid to Ukraine while offering no tangible solution to the ongoing conflict himself, which commenced with Russia's invasion in 2022.
Despite previously claiming he couldn't reveal his plans for ending the conflict to ensure their effectiveness, those plans remain unclear.
