According to The New York Post, he has accumulated 532 vacation days in less than four years, accounting for about 40% of his 1,326 days as president. In comparison, the average working American receives about 11 days of vacation annually, meaning it would take around 48 years to match Biden's vacation days. The Republican National Committee (RNC) pointed out Biden has taken his '16th straight day on vacation,' accompanied by a video of him relaxing on Rehoboth Beach in Delaware.

Recent footage shows Biden sitting on the beach next to his wife, First Lady Jill Biden. His two-week break follows a previous appearance on the same beach in early August. Members of former President Donald Trump's team highlight Biden's vacationing as problematic. Mark Paoletta, the former general counsel of the White House budget office under Trump, commented that Biden's image of relaxation contrasts sharply with ongoing national and global crises. Despite reducing his public appearances after exiting the presidential race, Biden's team asserts he continues to work remotely during his vacations, balancing responsibilities and leisure. White House spokesman Andrew Bates defended Biden, stating he has taken fewer vacation days than the modern presidential average and remains diligent wherever he is.

However, Biden's out-of-office to in-office ratio surpasses other presidents. Trump spent 26% of his presidency on personal trips, totaling 381 out of 1,461 days. An unexpected assassination attempt on Trump marked a tumultuous period in American politics. Representative Nicole Malliotakis suggested it might have benefited Americans if Biden had taken even more time off, implying his policy decisions have negatively impacted the country.
