Honoring the Legacy of David Albert Caron Sr.: A Life of Love and Achievement

David Albert Caron Sr. of Westerly, RI, formerly of South Windsor, CT, peacefully passed away on October 16, 2024, at the age of 71. Surrounded by his devoted wife, Kimberly Holland, and family, David left a legacy of love and achievement. David and Kimberly met in 1980, and their 37-year marriage was marked by love and devotion. Together, they raised two children, David Caron Jr. and Lindsey Caron Willard, who were the center of his world.

David's passion for the automotive industry began at an early age. Starting with just one tow truck, he built a notable career, founding enterprises such as Caron Auto Works, Caron Auto Body, and Caron Towing and Transport. His hard work and dedication led to the eventual sale of his venture to a Fortune 500 automotive transport firm, affording him more time to spend with his family and indulge in his interest in commercial real estate.

In his personal life, David cherished hobbies such as sailing, golfing, and traveling, particularly to Eleuthera, Bahamas. Westerly's coastal beauty was also a special retreat for him. Known affectionately as Big Dave and Papa, he is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly; his son, David Albert Caron Jr., residing in London, England; and his daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey Caron Willard and Andrew Willard, of Glastonbury, CT. He leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Madison Holland Willard and Andrew Lawrence Willard Jr.

David's surviving family members include his brother Richard Caron and sister-in-law Jean Horn Caron; brother Robert Caron; nephew Michael Caron; brother-in-law Gary Mulvey; niece Melissa Mulvey; mother-in-law Marjorie Holland, and brother-in-law Walter Bud Holland III. He also had a close-knit circle of dear friends. David was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Barbara Caron; sister Cindy Mulvey; and father-in-law Walter Bud Holland Jr.

To honor David's wishes, funeral services and burial will be private; a celebration of life will be held when convenient for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Funeral services are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, Westerly, RI. For online condolences, please visit www.rushlowiacoifuneralhome.com.
